Google Launches Beta of Home Services Ads...This Is Just The Beginning

Have a clogged toilet or locked out of your house? Google has you covered. With the recent launch of location-based professional home service ads, Google takes a shot across the bow of other home service solution platforms such as Angie's List, Yelp, and Amazon Home Services. In April, BuzzFeed News reported that Google was looking at launching an ad service that went beyond the current AdWords style format and would connect searchers with home service providers.
Well, they were right. During this beta test, if a user searches in Google for a few select terms such as “locksmith in San Francisco” you are now returned three results that promote pre-qualified service professionals.
There is an option to request more options beyond the first three by checking "more locksmiths". A searcher can view the service professionals profile including reviews, and submit a request for contact alone with basic job information for up to three service professionals
